The Public Guardian cares for disabled individuals who are not capable of handling their own care and estates. The Public Administrator handles the estate administration for individuals who died without a will or without a proper person to administer the estate.

The Adult Protective Services Program (APS) looks into reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and self-neglect for eligible Illinois residents living in the community.
