Eligibility

Eligible Veteran Beneficiaries: Need to have a service-connected (SC) rating of 30 percent or more, or; Traveling for treatment of a SC condition, or; Receive a VA pension, or income does not exceed maximum annual VA pension rate; Travelling for a scheduled compensation or pension; Medical condition requires an ambulance or a specially equipped van as determined by a VA clinician; The travel is pre-authorized (authorization is not required for emergencies if a delay would be hazardous to life or death)

Application process

(1) How to request travel reimbursement: a. Visit the Beneficiary Travel Office after completing an appointment request, or b. Call the office and complete the VA Travel Reimbursement Form 10-3542, or c. Fax or mail the completed and signed Form 10-3542 to the local Beneficiary Travel Office d. Submit form on website (2) Applications for reimbursement/payment must be submitted within 30 calendar days from the date of completed travel or date the applicant was notified for travel payments (3) Application forms available on site and from website (4) Call to verify eligibility for having the deductible waived (5) Call or visit website for most current reimbursement rates (6) Call the main number and Dial "0" for interpretation services if needed

Specialized programs include Blind Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury, Neurosurgery, Radiation Therapy and Cardiovascular Surgery. Operates a food pantry, provides COVID-19 vaccines and provides information and referral to eligible Veterans. Also offers the compensated work therapy program for Veterans. **Pantry will be closed on 12/25/25 and 01/01/26, and will resume normal operations on 01/08/26**
