Weatherization Programs | DuPage County Community Services

Program that helps reduce home energy loss and cost of utilities by completing home repairs after initial home inspections. Repairs include air sealing measures, insulating walls and attics, weather stripping of exterior doors, installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and LED light bulbs.

Application process

(1) Call the Main number and ask to have a referral made to the Weatherization program, (2) A phone intake will be completed to determine program eligibility, (3) Eligible applicants will be added to a wait list, (4) Once your name comes to the top of the wait list, an appointment will be provided, (5) Applicants will need to provide all required documents at the time of appointment, (6) If applicant is approved, an energy auditor will come to the home to complete an energy audit, (7) The recommended repairs will be reviewed with the homeowner prior to any work being completed.

DuPage County Resident; Must meet income guidelines; Households who qualify for LIHEAP and/or are receiving SSI Title IV and XVI or HUD means-tested programs.
